Secret Pal 11 Contest

1. What is the one knitting accessory you could not live without?
The needles LMAO - I would have to say the YARN! LOL I'm sorry I'll try again, the PATTERN?!?! ok ok I know be serious I know! - I would say Stitch markers, and I like unusual or special ones :)

2. If you're heading on vacation, do you take knitting with you? If so, how much and what type of project? Everytime I head out the door I take some sort of knitting with me, you never know where you will be, what will be happening, and who you may have to "talk" to if you don't have something to do! But sometimes, if I know there are yarn stores around, I would bring nothing, act overwhelmed from packing - make my hubby feel guilty - and then head to the yarn store for something new on HIM! works almost 99.9% of the time :)

3. Where have you travelled to that you'd consider your favorite spot? LYS spot? Wool and Company is my favorite knitting stores - its the Cadillac of yarn stores in my area (60+ miles) but its close! I will travel anywhere and everywhere for a new yarn store :) If you are talking favorite spot to just travel that would be "home" Michigan to visit with my family.

4. What is your favorite knitting book at the moment? Do you own it? ummm, I don't really have a favorite, I like all types of books and I usually get them from the library, if I really like it once I have looked through it then I will or may go get it. I really liked "Knit it! Felt it!" so after I checked it out, I ran to Joann's and purchased it!

5. Do you listen to podcasts? Which is your favorite(s)? nope

6. If you could only knit with 1 color for the rest of your life, what color would that be? I would say deep red. I love red, it would be my favorite color but I would go with a deep red if it was the only color for the rest of my life.

7. If you were far into a project and then noticed a mistake near the beginning what would you do? nothing, I would keep going, knitting is all about style. Maybe the mistake would make the project! Plus I'm slow enough that I wouldn't want to start all over!!!

8. Where is the most unsual spot you've ever knit? no laughing, on the football side line. My DS plays football, and there is his mom, knitting away. I have tons of moms ask me to knit things for them and of course I offer to "teach" them!

I really love November. I enjoy getting ready for Thanksgiving, cooking, decorating and being with friends/family. My favorite day in November would be the Friday after Thanksgiving where my hubby and I are up together by 3am, eating breakfast, preparing our ads and heading off to SHOP! Then there is Saturday when I'm standing in line at Joann's for fleece, yarn and anyother craft that is calling my name.

Froggin

I frogged the sock . . . I know I know I should have just keep knitting it till it was done. It looked "whole-y" to me. So I frogged it. I started another purse . . . I know another purse . . . but I said to myself, "self, whip up a quick purse to take your mind off the sock" LOL. So I knitted up the bottom, picked up my sides and hopefully will finish by Friday so I can use it this weekend.

Darcy, Julie, Trisha and I are going to a Scrapbook Expo. http://www.scrapbookexpo.com/ in St. Charles this Saturday. This should be fun :) We will be doing some shopping of course. Scrapp'n, bead and yarn stores are all near by - something for each of us.

What are your favorite styles\types of bags? (Long straps? Short handles? Handbags? Totes? Embellished? Plain? Include links to patterns or photos if you’d like – give your pal an idea of what you enjoy!) I love all types of purses. I enjoy making the boga bag and trying new patterns. I love medium sized handles, i-cords, wooden handles, or metal handles. I haven't done much embellishing on purses . . . I think time is an issue for me.

What handbag or bag are you carrying today? Do you use a separate bag to carry your knitting? I'm using a small bag right now that is green and yellow with metal handles. Yes its knitted and felted. Yes, I carry a separate bag to carry my knitting but its a store bought bag :(

I have 4 children, 11 year old son (who loves to knit and does purses too), 7 year old daughter (who wants to knit but isn't patient enough), 5 year old daughter and 16 month old daughter; one black lab who is 9 and of course my loving husband of 13 years :)))

What kind of project best personifies you and why? purses, i love to change up my purse because everyone notices it :-) great conversation piece.

What is your favorite part of Autumn? You can also share a special Autumn memory if you'd prefer! The colors. I love the fall colors, trees changing and the fall evenings.

Tell us 3 things you would do if you won 10 million dollars in the lottery. 1. Purchase a bigger house for my family (my youngest two are my neices that we have taken in and its a little tight here but worth it); 2. OPen a yarn store :) 3. Make alot of people comfortable.

I don't think I need anything cause I have a ton but I'm just looking forward to time away with my girlfriend. Maybe Julie will be able to come too!
