Knitting up a storm

GO BEARS GO BEARS GO BEARS GO BEARS GO BEARS GO BEARS

My first hat!
I always attempt new projects but never finish them, this one I finished. It only took me one day :) I think its cause it was so little and for the little one that is coming our way. I really liked how it turned out and am going to start another with some self-stripping yarn. I may attempt adding some stitches and making hats for the whole family.

My first Teddy Bear!

This was a fun project I started this one right after the hat and I actually finished it in 2 days! Yes 2 days! I think its cause I wanted to see the outcome. I had to stuff it sew up the sides etc. This was all knit in one piece and the arms were just picked up. It was super easy. I will make others. I'm unsure if I want to make a face with some embrodery yarn. Its a soft bear. I saw both of these projects on Knitty Gritty and I'm glad I attempted them both . . . following patterns and trying new things is one of my down falls.

I need to attempt working on double pointed needles. YES, I know I can do it. I really want to knit me a pair of socks. I have some great yarn and I have one started. I saw on Knitty today some socks knit on larger double pointed needles to get the concept down on turning the heal etc. I really wanted to take a class on making cloggs . . . like a sock but larger. I have issues with small needles and thin little yarn.

I have my van back! HORRAY! Everyone is happy here at the homefront. Now if I can just get on a budget and stick to it. I have to buy groceries tomorrow and I'm sure that will be about $100-125. I have stopped with school lunches and have been packing and DS has lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks, lunch now includes sandwich, fruit, sm. bag chips and juice box. Interesting. DD seems hungry after school now, I think its cause she is eating more things she likes and her metabolism is working more . . . like she needs it . . . skinny butt.

DD made posters today to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s day. It was cute, we hung the poster above the door way into the kitchen. I'm going to have a artist on my hand I can see it. DS has a wrestling meet today (we didn't go) he didn't wrestl, no one in his weight class (glad we didn't make the trip). Another meet on Thursday and an invitational at home on Saturday.

12 Hour Day

We started our day at 4:00 AM this morning. DS had to be at the bus stop for wrestling at 5:30am. After we dropped him off we headed for Peoria to visit our upcoming newest addition to our family. Isn't she beautiful.

DFD will be coming home sometime in the next 10 days with her sister. We are all looking forward to having 2 more to our family. If you have any questions about this just give me a call and I will explain in more detail.

DS invitional was good, I hate bleachers. He didn't win but that is okay he did well. I think in a few years DS will be great at, just like football.

The next week will be very busy here. DS has 3 wrestling matches this upcoming week, DH will be working major overtime, DD and I will be getting her room ready for her new roomate :) and putting a crib together.

Life In Termoil

I didn't think things could get so worse as it did yesterday, I was getting ready for work and my hubby says, "where did you park your van last night?" I'm like "what", behind your car. Well my van was NOT outside. Immediately you think "OH MY GOSH, someone stole my van." Then after the shock wears off . . . repo man. My DH and I have been struggling for the past 5 years since the closing. I thought we have been doing better. Well, I missed a payment in Feb. 06, continued to pay till June 06 missed June (on strike) and then Dec. 06, xmas and I knew I was getting paid on 1-5. So I didn't realize that they would come and get it. WELL THEY DID. So I stressed all day yesterday, figured how we can get it out and we will be able to by Jan. 17th. So lesson learned! Pay your car note on time NO MATTER WHAT. I did complete a purse yesterday . . . yes I knitted almost the whole day. I just have to felt it now. So pictures should come this weekend.
