Knit From Your Stash 2007!

1. The Knit-From-Your-Stash-a-Thon will start January 1, 2007 and run through September 30, 2007 -- a period of nine months.

2. I will not buy any yarn during that period, with the following exceptions:
a. 100% wool yarn does not count if its on sale. What? You think I'm made of stone?
b. If someone asks for a specific knitted gift that I really and truly do not have the yarn for, I may buy yarn to knit that gift.
c. If I'm knitting something and run out of yarn, I may purchase enough to complete the project.
d. I get one "Get Out of Jail Free" card -- I'm allowed to fall off the wagon one time.

3. I'm allowed to receive gifts of yarn. PLEASE SEND ME SOME!

4. Buying for a secret pal is an exception.

THEN I FIND BUTTONS LIKE THIS ONE . . . .
What am I to do? I will attempt to Use my Stash!

I joined Midwest Knitters today too

Braclets

I have been talking about my braclets I have been making so I took a few pictures to show all of you. I really like making them. Simple, yet relaxing. I have about 10 done and another 8 or so to still complete. I like to do one every once in a while.

I already have my favorite which is the duel band seen here . . .

COMPLETED!

The old story is to kiss a frog and he will become a prince.

Well, I continued to knit and knit and knit and it finally turned into a beautiful shawl. I can't believe I finally finished it this year! Yes I started this months ago and would always frog it to the side. I think it was because it was straight knit. I love the yarn its super soft and beautiful. I purchased the yarn at the Chicago Knitting Expo over a year ago. I'm so happy I finished this and I love it!

OTN: I have been working on my "shawl" yes the shawl I have been working on forever. I'm hoping to get it finished soon. I think it will be beautiful once I'm done. It will be long and warm . . . if the weather ever gets cold it will be nice to wear. I also want to complete some more scarves. I need to get DH's done. He wants an all black scarf for work . . . all black blaaaah. Then I have some lionbrand yarn to knit up that make great scarves and only takes a day or two for me to knit one up.

Update

Last night was fun . . . I had my first "bead retreat" and I had 13 ladies over. We made bracelets and it was fun. I did well for a hostess and I'm happy. I'm thankful for my 3 bookings (cause I want more and can buy then too). I'm not really a bracelet person, but I like these. Maybe its because I made them? not too sure. Beading is very relaxing to me too. Its sad to say that I found ANOTHER hobby.

I'm looking forward to my SP package arriving soooooon. I sent my SP 3 packages, one about every week to 10 days, I thought it would be cool to see a package in the mail so often. This round is fun . . .

I'm moving at work again . . . its ok, I'm happy no matter where I go. I really like my job and I think I make a difference no matter what location. Its funny how I'm going back to where I originally started almost 3 years ago. I know I haven't updated on UNION activity in a while, we are still waiting to bargain and we are all thinking after the first of the year.

First Wresting Match

My DS is now wrestling. He had his first match/tournament today. There were 8 schools present. I have never seen a wrestling meet before . . . I was alittle nervous watching the first couple of matches. I know I know he plays football (6 years now) but this wrestling looked DANGEROUS!

It was scary for me the mother . . . DS lost his first match . . . then YES, YES, he won the second. Whats really great is DS's coaches are great. Very inspiring. Plus the other parents are great. Total "support" and not all about winning. I'm sure this will come but it was nice to see such sportsmanship.

Wall Scrapp'n

For the past 4 hours I have been "wall scrapp'n". In late-October I took about 100+ pictures of my children and I am now decorating wooden frames for them. I picked out my favorites, blew them up and decorated frames. I LOVE IT. They turned out sooooo cool. I will only post two for a majority of them are for Christmas gifts. I have been quite the crafty girl lately.

Tomorrow I'm going to be making jewerly. I really enjoyed doing this too. I'm planning on making a few for gifts also. I know I know, I'm also knitting a scarf that I would like to complete by Sunday too.

First Snow of the Season

Let it snow . . . . let it snow :) SNOW DAY! I would say we got about 8-10" and more is coming.
