Strikers! Secret Pal Strikes Again

WOW, what a morning, walking the line then resting and knitting. Then I came home to a nice package from my Secret Pal. I love Bath and Body Works lotion and shower gel. I must say I have a great SP . . . she hasn't forgot about me :)

I'm getting ready to ship off a package to my SP. I'm also in the middle of making her a gift. I have issues about giving my knitting away . . . I'm always afraid someone won't like it :) But I'm going to do it this time.

Strike is going, having fun. We are going up to Chicago tomorrow to strike outside my employers main office. Do hope we get media coverage! I have a wonderful tan. I haven't been this tan in years.

American Girl Doll has Arrived

Ayana and her new doll. What a treat. They look beautiful together. Ayana named her new doll . . . Tina Tori Rayfield. Cute as can be. They look like twins. Ayana has decided to let Tina sleep, eat and play with her. Maybe mom will knit Tina a poncho too! Have fun Ayana with your new best friend.

"7" Lucky Seven . . . Yes Lucky I am

Check out all the kids. All 7 of them, James 20 soon, Charlie 18, Jennifer 18 soon, Danny 16, Helen 11 soon, Cyrano 10 and Ayana 6! Its hard to believe they are all growing up. I remember when James was born, Charlie, Jenn, Dan, Helen, then my two. OH! do I feel OLD!!! Michigan was a great time, being together again. Charlies graduation was great. He is such a young man. Check him out in his cap and gown.

Then there is Helen, Cyrano and Ayana look how cute they are! Well I must say I think I have blogged enough and I'm going to head off to bed cause I have a STRIKE line to walk tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that, till we get a FAIR CONTRACT and I'm sure it won't be with the company I'm with now. So Gov. Rod please step up and step in and give me a new employer that will bargain in good faith and treat their employees with respect and fairness.

Secret Pal "Strikes"

I have an awesome Secret Pal. It was such a nice surprise this week to come home to a gift in the mail. Check them out, I love the detail of these stitch markers.

Plus I got a box of mints . . . Knitting Mints . . . and she made me a homemade card too.

Lets see . . . the strike is going great. The line is becoming stronger and stronger everyday. Wedneday of this week me and about 20 of my coworkers are going up to Chicago for a press lease, this should be awesome! I'm so looking forward to it.

I'm planning on dye'n some yarn this week. I may even start today :) Have a great week . . . I know I am, and YES MY TAN IS LOOKING GREAT!

ROCK LOBSTER

I look like a lobster. We are on a third day of strike! We are strong on the line and we are winning. My management is not doing groups ethicly and we are doing something about that today. I'm so proud of myself and all my coworkers! We have been in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, The Times Press, The LaSalle Tribune and WCMY Radio Station. All I can say is "WHAT DO WE WANT?" . . . CONTRACT! . . . . "WHEN DO WE WANT IT?" . . . . NOW!

I have not been knitting, I have been walking the line. I have a great tan and the weather has been beautiful. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

MIchigan Bound

Today I leave for Michigan for four days. I'm happy to get away! I'm heading to my mom's house first and then heading up to my sisters to help with the preparation for the graduation party. I'm sure it will be a ton of fun seeing everyone and just getting away.

STRIKE happens on Tuesday :) I can't wait to get started . . . these last couple of days seem to last forever and we need to just get moving . . . I still can't figure out how my employer will be able to do treatment . . . they can't even keep intake, they had it stopped till further notice, so looky we have made progress!!!

Everyone enjoy their weekend, I will post some pictures of the mini-vacation/work detail :) on Monday when I get home.
